FAQ:

How do I keep my tulip bouquet fresh for longer? +

After your tulip delivery arrives, give them a quick refresh. Trim the stems on an angle, pop them into cool ,clean water, and keep the vase out of direct heat or sun. Tulips keep growing after they’re cut, and they tend to lean toward the light, so rotate the vase every day or two for an even look.

  • Recut the stems by 1–2 cm every two days, and keep them in fresh, cool water.
  • Keep them away from heaters, sunny windows, and ripening fruit.
  • Choose a taller, straight-sided vase to support the tulip stems

Are tulips safe around pets and children? +

On display, they’re fine, but tulips can be harmful if they’re eaten, especially the bulbs. So keep your lovely tulip bouquet out of reach of curious pets and little hands, and bin any fallen petals right away. If a pet chews on a stem or a bulb and seems unwell, contact your vet. It’s a good idea to wash your hands after touching tulip bulbs, too.

Can I choose colours, and are tulips available year-round in Adelaide? +

If only. Tulips are seasonal, peaking in the cooler months, although with greenhouse growing, we sometimes see extended availability. The tulip bouquets listed on our website include every variety that’s fresh in Adelaide right now. You can make a note to request a colour or stem length in your comments at checkout, and if a specific shade isn’t available on the day, we’ll match the mood and palette as closely as possible.

Can I choose colours, and are tulips available year-round in Adelaide? +

Tulips naturally arch to follow the light. It’s a characteristic that we love, and a natural part of their charm.

If you prefer a straighter arrangement, you can make a few adjustments at home:

  • Use a clean, tall and narrow vase, and leave the band on for the first few hours
  • Keep the water cool, and change it every day.
  • Rotate the vase to keep the tulips from bending towards the light
  • If they start to flop, re-cut the stems, refresh the water, and chill them in the fridge for half an hour.
